Abstract :
This paper compares the use of Scott-T transformers to conventional three phase transformers. The symmetry of the connection is derived and it is shown that the input currents are balanced. It is further shown that significant cost, size, and reliability advantages are obtained by using Scott-T transformers. The application of a Scott-T ferros to power switched mode rectifier modules without power factor correction is also discussed
