Study on static aesthetics of bridge

As the artificial structure crossing the river, lake, sea, valley and the road, the landscape function and aesthetic value as well as the transportation function are required for the construction of bridges. The static aesthetics of the bridge is proposed and developed by the present authors to analyze the esthetics of the bridge with the static viewpoint but not the dynamic viewpoint. The esthetics of the bridge is studied on the appearance factor, such as the color and modeling. The universal principles of the static aesthetics of bridges are discussed. The theory of the static aesthetics of bridges will be useful for further study on dynamic aesthetics of bridge.
