Abstract :
In order to detect foreign body from the complex channel background and cotton layers, a detection method based on RGB space model is presented in this paper. The feature of the standard cotton and the channel background was extract to create a space model of cotton. And then this model was used to process the 24-bit true color images which were captured from a foreign body picking equipment. Simulation results show that this method can overcome the interference caused by the complex channel background and diversity of the foreign fiber in the actual working environment and can detect foreign body effectively.
