Abstract
In this paper we propose a video coding algorithm which has a very low coding memory requirement. The coding memory reduction was achieved by using two bit maps instead of lists to indicate the significant coefficients and the descendant sets. The coding complexity is also significantly reduced by exploiting the 3D wavelet transform and 3D zerotree coding. The low memory requirement and low coding complexity make the proposed algorithm suitable for hardware implementation
