Abstract :
Chaotic communication is an emerging technique which has been recently used to increase the security level of telecommunication systems. Therefore, optical chaotic multiplexing becomes a necessity to fulfill the tremendous requirements of high bit rate transmission. However, the bit rate is limited by the lack of synchronization between the transmitter and receiver laser diode pairs. In this work, the data bit rate per channel is increased by applying external optical injection to both the transmitter and receiver laser diode pair in each channel. A 2-channel multiplexing system has been numerically investigated. A 4 Gbit/s has been provided with acceptable system performance.
