Abstract :
The use of ultra wideband multisite radar devices (UWB MSRDs) with two antennas separated by about 1...1.5 m for searching survivors in rubble is very prospective. Optimised signal processing in such UWB MSRD is considered, which has to solve two principal problems: 1) detection of very weak signals reflected from a moving human chest due to breathing against strong clutter background, and 2) location of survivors with accuracy required for effective rescue works. Large signal attenuation and unknown additional delay of signals propagating through rubble are taken into account
