Abstract :
This paper proposes an efficient P2P-based video streaming scheme over the ADSL channel. To solve the problem of low down-link bandwidth utilization of the ADSL channel, the proposed scheme uses a new multi-peer aggragation (MPA) technique which is based on the many-to-one transmission mode. Besides that, with the help of an assistant peer selection method, MPA can also minimize the overall transmission time. Experimental results show that by using our proposed method, the down-link bandwidth utilization of the ADSL channel is significantly improved, and the overall transmission time is greatly saved.
