Abstract :
A semi-analytical and rigorous method for analyzing two-dimensional scattering of electromagnetic waves by a cylindrical array is presented. The cylindrical array is formed by parallel circular rods of infinite length which are symmetrically distributed on a circular cylindrical surface. The proposed method uses the T-matrix of a circular rod in isolation and the reflection and transmission matrices of the scattered fields expressed in terms of the cylindrical harmonic waves as the basis. The details to obtain the reflection and transmission matrices in closed form are discussed. The results are extended to the generalized reflection and transmission matrices which can be applied to the analysis of electromagnetic scattering by multilayered cylindrical arrays of circular rods.
