Abstract :
This paper introduces the circuit simulation design of a submillimeter wave subharmonic mixer. Detailed simulation design procedures of mixer diodes, transition, filter and matching circuits are depicted. The mixer using commercially available DBES105a GaAs Schottky barrier diodes is designed to operate in an RF frequency of 361 GHz when supplied with a LO frequency of 180 GHz. The result of simulation shows that the conversion loss of the mixer is less than 15 dB in an RF frequency from 357.5 GHz to 362.5 GHz with a LO power of 6 dBm.
