Abstract :
The authors present a tool for visualizing the wall motion and thickness of the left ventricle. Smooth surface reconstructions of the endocardial and epicardial surfaces are computed from MRI slice data, and used to compute wall thickness along the endocardial surface. The endocardial surface is then displayed color-coded by wall thickness. Wall motion can also be visualized as the endocardial surface is drawn beating in real time. The authors believe that this is an intuitive interface for the study of ventricular function and treatment planning.
