Abstract :
Metal strips settled in a particular array provide the unique electromagnetic properties. In this paper, the electromagnetic parameters of the metal strip array with different geometric size are given and analysed by effective medium theory, which is the theoretical basis of gradient index microwave lens demonstrating the field deflection and focusing effect. In order to display the properties, we designed a 4 X 10 metal strip array and obtained its field distribution by simulation. The result agreed well with the theoretical prediction.
