  • Abstract
    For companies to establish their mobile commerce applications, the fundamental challenge is how to extend existing enterprise applications with mobile functionality in order to provide remote staff with real-time business data while at the same time avoiding alteration of existing system codes. Due to increased diversity of business data and mobile devices, many of current mobile commerce applications are customized applications and serve a specific industry need. In this paper, as a solution to tackle the challenge, we propose an semantic Web based enterprise information integration platform for mobile commerce, which is designed to give developers a systematic reference approach to provide a generic and neutral mechanism to describe and access heterogeneous information resources from existing business applications, support reasoning and auto-discovery of information based on rules, and hide details of underlying wireless networks and mobile devices access from mobile commerce applications.
