    College English teaching is an important part of higher education and college English is a compulsory basic course for college students. Teaching Requirement of College English Course, in which English course is advised to be included in the credit system, is established and put forward by the Ministry of Education. Therefore, a series of creative reform is required to be enforced in terms of the establishment of teaching plans, course selection, the perfection of student-record system, teaching evaluation, teacher resource management, etc. In this process there is a realization of transformation to new teaching thought, such as student-center teaching, comprehensive language competence, self-learning ability and long life learning ability cultivation, and so on. In this paper, the Requirement is briefly analyzed in different parts; in the meantime the achievements and experience of creative reform in college English credit system are discussed in length with the expectation to provide reference for college English teaching in China.
