Abstract :
The evolution of 3D virtual world technologies gives opportunity to both 3D virtual world applications such as learning and new programming model in the 3D environment. In this paper, we analyze the business needs for 3D virtual world learning applications, describe the design methodology of virtual learning applications based on our own experience, and summarize the interaction patterns in 3D virtual world, and further derive the new design patterns in the new 3D application environment. With a real case study, we show how the design methodology and pattern are used in the design of 3D virtual world learning applications.
