Abstract
In this paper, we consider the problem of estimating the parameters - the central directions of arrival (DOA) and angular spread of distributed source by one-dimension searching algorithm. An advantage of this method is that it has decoupled the central DOA and angular spread based on the steering vector which is a Schur-Hadamard product. So the central DOA can be estimated by a proposed second-order statistics in a preliminary stage without any eigendecompostion and peak-finding searching, and then angular spread is obtained by one-dimensional searching. The proposed algorithm has improved precision, low computational cost. Simulations clearly demonstrate that the algorithm is not only effective, but also enjoys better performance.
