            Abstract : 
The 18.75 MVA generators for the Texas Experimental Tokamak (TEXT) upgrade will each be driven by a 298 kW electric motor. The motor will be coupled to the generator by a hydraulic transmission system. The authors describe the drive system and discuss why it was chosen. Also included are a description of the computer simulation used to predict the drive system performance and the simulation results
