Abstract :
In this paper, a method based on peer-information to control BitTorrent (BT) traffic in distributed model is proposed. It is called peer-cache method. Through recording and analyzing the peer-information which is obtained from the BT signaling traffic, the BT file-sharing traffic related with these peers can be accurately identified and controlled even it is encrypted. As more and more forcibly encrypted BT traffic is generated by the clients, our peer-cache method is more comprehensive than the popular port-based and signature-based traffic identification methods.
