Abstract
We introduce the concept of animated pictorial databases which are structured in a bottom-up architecture. To deliver quality of services to pictorial database users, the presentation and storage of pictorial objects must be efficient and effective. In this paper, we describe some frameworks in these two subsystems. In particular, we propose an indexing method that supports spatial queries and shows some better features such as less overhead and easy to maintain
