Abstract :
It is shown how a DC link filter can be incorporated into a general model to predict the behavior of SRM (switched reluctance motor) drives. A computer program simulates the SRM drive with and without a DC link filter. The program reads the flux/current curves from an input file, integrates to obtain a co-energy table, and then differentiates to obtain an estimate of the torque. An error of 4.5% in the peak torque pulsations occurs if an ideal DC link filter is assumed
