  • Abstract
This paper discusses the steady state voltage stability control using an artificial intelligence technique. An expert system is designed to act as a decision making support to the power system operator. It suggests reactive control action to alleviate the system specified voltage stability violations. Sensitivities of voltage stability index to the bus voltage and the existing VAr control and compensation tools are used. The results of applying the approach of the knowledge-based rules to the AEP 30-bus test system are presented
