Abstract :
A personal-computer-based program for the dynamic analysis of busbar structures under short circuit faults is presented as a more accurate and easier-to-use alternative than accepted static methods. The use of dynamic analyses implemented in a user-friendly menu-driven format is introduced. The program presented allows for simple spreadsheet-like entry of model definitions and includes static analyses for comparison. The analysis of a typical substation model from defining the model to generating output is described and compared with the static method
