Abstract :
In this paper, we describe an implementation of a type of SOM - Quantum Self Organized Map (QSOM). The training process of QSOM networks can be described in terms of input pattern presentation and quantum states of weight update by quantum rotation gates. We implemented and applied the QSOM to the network intrusion detection. The validities and feasibilities of the QSOM are confirmed through experiments on KDD Cup 99 datasets. The experiment result shows that the QSOM has great potential ability to increase the detection rate for a general network intrusion detection system.
