Grand challenges in power semiconductors

Summary form only given. Technology opportunities have distinct eras. These eras are characterized by an underlying theme that serves as a rallying cause behind progress. Each successive era brings with it tremendous business opportunities unlike any other before it. In recent decades we have transitioned from an era of "microcosm" to "telecosm," and now entering the age of "powercosm." Information quality power is one of the greatest business opportunities of our time. This talk will focus on key challenges and opportunities in materials, devices, circuits and systems pertaining to power semiconductors in order to develop next generation power systems to fuel global information economy.
