Advances in circuit breaker testing and condition monitoring

Hathaway Systems Limited, located in Belfast, Northern Ireland is a subsidiary of the Hathaway Corporation of Denver, Colorado. Hathaway Systems Limited has designed and produced diagnostic systems used specifically for testing transmission and distribution circuit breakers for ten years. These systems have been used by engineers throughout the world to provide the information required to ensure the integrity of a breaker before, during and after routine maintenance. This paper discusses various testing techniques for high voltage circuit breakers and motorised isolators and introduces some new approaches in this field
