Abstract
An automatic lecture archiving system that recognizes dynamic situations in the classroom using multimodal sensors is presented. Since one of the most important contents is human activity, such as meetings, lectures and events in the society, it becomes important to record it without disturbing the activity. The archiving system for recording such activity have common concept, and we name it as "environmental media". Under this concept, we have developed an automatic lecture archiving system and used it in several courses in our university. In this paper, the media processing part of the automatic lecture archiving system is mainly discussed.
