Abstract
A method to make a CAD-model of a vehicle suitable for electromagnetic (EM) simulations is presented. Three different EMC problems have been studied by using the derived CAD-models in a finite difference time domain (FDTD) program. First, the coupling between antennas mounted on the vehicle. Second, the locations of "hot spots", i.e. places with high field strength inside the vehicle. Finally, the E-field probed in a circle around the vehicle. The agreement between simulations and measurements performed in a semi-anechoic chamber was found to be satisfactorily.
