Abstract :
Linear array charge coupled device (CCD) cameras and cylindrical lenses are used to measure motions in one distinct plane without regard to motions in all other planes. A custom pixel-data processing unit is implemented to reduce the amount of data to be stored. The optical measurement system is capable of providing accurate measurements of the motion of lightweight flexible structures. Experimental result show very good precision for both static and dynamic measurements
