  • Abstract
Models for a high-rate, high-capacity, erasable spaceflight optical disk recorder controller have been developed using the architecture design and assessment system (ADAS). ADAS is an integrated set of computer-aided-design (CAD) tools that supports the simultaneous design of hardware and software. The system uses directed graphs to model hardware and software structures and their interactions. Simulation is provided by an interactive color graphics program that yields immediate feedback for development and orchestration of hardware and software designs. A discussion of system structure and functionality and an evaluation of model implementations and problem-solving techniques are presented
