Abstract
A simple equation for calculating the dual stripline characteristic impedance using standard stripline designs based on the dimensions of the dual stripline design is presented. In this way, existing design tools (graphs or computer programs) for standard striplines can continue to be used, thereby extending the usefulness of existing resources. The performance of this equation is compared to the only two simple formulas currently available for dual stripline Z 0, one that is hardly simple, and another that is new and not well characterized. The computational advantage of using the new equation lies in using an already existing program for stripline Z 0 as a subroutine for calculating dual stripline Z 0
