Abstract :
The solution of wideband adaptive filtering problems with analog structures is investigated. Specific objectives are to provide a basis for a unified theory for both discrete-time and continuous-time adaptive filtering and to consider various analog structures for filter implementation. A canonic adaptive structure is proposed, and the structure which achieves adaptation of the filter coefficients is derived. A discussion is presented of the desired form for the basic analog block which is used to make up the canonic structure. A lattice formulation is analyzed. Conclusions about the effectiveness and usefulness of adaptive analog implementations are presented
