Abstract
Alternative predictions developed by Collin, based on Bethe´s theory, and Elliott, based on Schelkunoff´s equivalence principle and the method of images, for the scattering from a small hole in the broad wall of a piggyback waveguide are described. Experimental data is given that verifies Collin´s predictions from Bethe´s theory. An apparent conflict between the two formulations is resolved by data generated by two programs that employ the method of moments technique.
