Abstract :
A modified single-mode theory is presented for the axially probe-fed hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna. From the theory a simple formula is derived for the impedance matrix, of which the matrix elements can be evaluated without doing any numerical integration. It is found that the theory agrees excellently with the rigorous theory. Since the theory involves simple algebraic operations only, it is very helpful to the design engineer.
