Abstract :
The mitigation of intersymbol interference in high data-rate frequency-hop communication systems is impeded by the fact that the effects of the channel can change significantly with each hop. The paper investigates novel techniques for mitigating interference without the use of an equalizer. A nonrepeating form of frequency shift keying is proposed along with an interference mitigation algorithm that is specifically designed for use with this modulation. The algorithms are low in complexity and effectively mitigate interference spanning multiple adjacent symbols.
