Abstract
Mobile ad hoc network otherwise known as MANET has been generating a lot of interest in the research community especially at the routing protocol. However, there is little research on how TCP (Transport Control Protocol) performs over MANET. TCP was originally designed to provide reliable end-to-end data delivery over unreliable networks with wired network in mind. However, if traditional TCP is implemented in MANET without considering the unique properties of mobile ad hoc network, this will lead to poor performance. In this paper, we investigate the performance of TCP over MANET.
