Message from the general co-chairs

This is the 9th in the series of conferences started in 1990. This is a premier conference in India on Communications and Signal Processing. Indian IT industry has undergone an unprecedented growth in last two decades. With the growth in IT industry, the demand for IT professionals has also increased dramatically. Consequently, the number of engineering colleges and researchers has seen a dramatic increase. Thus, it is becoming very important to have a forum for interaction between the industry professionals and researchers in academia. SPCOM fulfils one such need. This also provides an important platform for Indian researchers to showcase their results to the world. This edition of SPCOM features four plenary and 23 invited speakers from around the world. Six tutorials on topics of current interest have also been organized. Furthermore, a large number of papers were submitted for publication from India and abroad. The acceptance rate was 38%, resulting in a very high quality of the contributed papers as well.
