Abstract :
Accurate measurement of the electrical properties of the TWT dielectric support rods is imperative in the design of a new generation of millimeter and sub-millimeter wave TWTs. Moreover, this capability is of outmost important for a consistent high yield in manufacturing of those tubes. This paper describes a method of combining a resonance cavity with a 3D electromagnetic code to measure the dielectric properties of TWT BeO rods just before being inserted into the tube.
