The authors discuss the BRI (basic rate interface), the PRI (primary rate interface), and BISDN (broadband integrated services digital network) and the scope of these in industrial, commercial, residential, and educational applications. Wherever applicable, migration from BRI to PRI to BISDN is also discussed
