  • Abstract
In this paper, we show how a combination of wavelength- and polarisation-multiplexing in C-band can enhance capacity in high data rate MMF-based access network applications. The transmission segment (single moded) consisted of two tunable C-band lasers. The polarisation-aligned output was passed to a 40-channel arrayed-waveguide grating (AWG). After amplification, the AWG output was set to circular-polarisation states and centre-launched into 50 μm MMF spans ranging from 300 m to 3 km.
