Abstract :
The application of visual modeling techniques to software requirements elicitation and documentation practices holds promise for sizable improvement over traditional requirements management practices. This paper provides a case study of the use of the display-action-response (DAR) model for capturing and organizing software user interface (UI) requirements visually. We applied the DAR model during a project for a large technology manufacturing company. Based on feedback elicited and received during that project, the strengths and areas for improvement within the model are identified. Areas for future work are identified and discussed.
