The main function of hot rolling process control is thickness setting model of finishing mill and mathematical model of plate setting, which is the core of the mathematical model of hot rolling. After setting value to calculate, it will be sent to basic automatic level and carried out by device control functions. This article uses the finishing mill model which includes the rolling force model, the moment model, the temperature calculation model, the speed model and calculation of the mill gap to set all the rolling parameters and calculate. It also introduces the mathematical model of finishing mill process control in the 950mm hot strip mill of Taishan Steel Co., Ltd.
