This paper compares the Chinese employees´ public service motivation (PSM) in different sectors based on 483 samples. It proved that the level of PSM, in terms of attraction to policy making and the combination of PSM, is significantly different between sectors. However, it is the education, age and length of service which can predict the level of PSM in stead of the sector variable.
