Abstract
Photocatalytic activity of mixed phase nanocrystalline titania under visible light has been studied by monitoring the degradation of methylene blue in aqueous solution. The samples are characterized by XRD, HRTEM, UV-Vis and PL. Mixed phase titania is found to demonstrate enhanced photocatalytic activity compared to its pristine phase and this has been attributed to effective charge separation of photoinduced e-/h+ pair estimated qualitatively via PL analysis.
