Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel adaptive selection cooperation scheme using prediction-based decision combined with a new relay selection strategy. In the proposed scheme, the destination predicts whether the transmission from a selected relay would be successful or not by utilizing instantaneous state information about the channel from the relay to the destination. Then the destination gives back a command determined by the prediction to the whole network. Numerical results show that the proposed adaptive selection cooperation scheme combined with the new relay selection strategy improves its throughput, saves transmission power, and prolongs the lifetime of the network, while having the same outage probability as a conventional selection cooperation scheme combined with the best relay selection strategy.
