Abstract :
Petri nets are being used in modeling and control of discrete event systems due to their capability to capture the characteristics inherent to those systems. For complex systems the Petri net model is too large to analyze. Synthesis techniques are developed to overcome this difficulty. In this paper we review the existing synthesis methods and discuss some classes of problems which are not totally addressed
