Abstract :
The reduced cost of semiconductors makes the use of power-electronic elements like IGBT cost-effective: More and more power-electronic systems are used. The increased number of converters changes the overall behavior of electrical grids. It has been demonstrated that the interaction between the converters (and thus between the controls) may cause instability in the grid. Thus it is very important to model the converter down to each switching during simulations of the power-electronic systems. For this analysis the control algorithm has to be provided to the simulation tool to generate the adequate switching signals which are transferred to the modelled converter. To maintain the control algorithm secret this paper proposes the use of dynamic linked libraries (DLL) to provide the algorithms. This also allows the integration of multiple converters using the same control algorithm without interfering.
