Abstract :
Gyrotron based systems with output power from several kilowatts to several tens kilowatts are finding increasing use in the research into various applications and pilot tests of the processes of industrial interest. In the last decade, the Institute of Applied Physics jointly with Gycom Ltd., Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, in parallel with the fabrication of gyrotron systems started development of high voltage power supplies (HVPS) to be used with these systems. In this paper, the general concept of the HVPS design is described and examples of their output characteristics are given.
