Abstract :
A slip power recovery scheme (SPRS) is popular as a variable speed drive (VSD) for a wound rotor induction motor (WRIM) and as a variable speed constant frequency doubly fed induction generator (VSCF-DFIG). In this work an attempt is made to reduce some of the drawbacks of SPRS by using a DC link series resonant converter (DCLSRC). The implementation of SPRS using DCLSRC is verified through simulation. The results show that the rotor current is maintained almost sinusoidal over a wide speed range. Hence the rotor current harmonics and the related effects are reduced. The proposed scheme also provides a procedure to integrate the three single phase AC to DC converters for connection to the three-phase mains
