Abstract :
A Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is an effective alternative to the existing conventional controller. This paper presents the design and analysis of a Type-1 and Interval Type-2 Fuzzy logic controller for the outer loop of the Ball and Beam model. To evaluate performance of each controller, various performance parameters such as rise time, maximum overshoot, settling time, and a steady-state error have been determined. Results reveal that Interval Type-2 controller found to give better performance than the Type-1 FLC.
