Abstract :
Because of their simplicity, compactness and their very good beam quality fiber-lasers are dedicated very well for applications in the field of material processing or micro marking of different materials e.g. thin plastic films or anodized aluminium. For the material processing, e.g. the drilling of small holes in glass substrates we used a fiber laser with a output power of about 25 to 35 watts and a beam quality near to single mode.
