Abstract :
In this paper, polarisation properties of super-continuum generated in silica/air-clad dual-core tapered fibres were experimentally investigated. The silica/air-clad tapered fibres with quasielliptical cross-section (the longer axis 3.4 μm long, shorter axis 2 μm) and 10-cm long waist was pumped with 80-fs pulses of a Ti:sapphire laser at the average power of 250 mW (wavelength 800 nm, repetition rate 81 MHz). At fixed polarisation of the Ti:sapphire laser measurements were conducted to quantify changes in the polarisation degree and spectra of the super-continuum.
